Plan B Stands for Plan Better

House Update:

Our "Maybe" house pretty much fell through. We stood firm on our price and waited to hear the banks response...which was nothing. We are content with it. While we were out looking at different houses we found our "Should Be" house!

We did an inspection this past Saturday. We are still waiting to get the hard paper copies..hopefully soon! We may even get to have Thanksgiving there, that would just be awesome. Here are some pictures:

My favorite part: the kitchen. And Wrigley does approve.

Master Bathroom

We really are just prayin about...and we'll see what the plan is for us.

(Side note: I want a big girl camera. That might just be number one on my wish list...besides a Mac desktop.)

Our friend Bryan came in last week for a visit and we took a trip to Sedona for the day. Beautiful.

We like where we live. A lot.

Latest Collection...

of things going on in my brain.

-I have the best job in the world. I wish I could post videos of the little bittys. They are awesome and I love seeing language develop!!!

-We are pretty anxious for our maybe home to come through. We like it a whole lot and want people to come visit us. Also, I would love to have Thanksgiving there.

-I officially want a Mac desktop. I have one at school. I barely know how to turn it on, but I know it's awesome. One day. Did you know teachers get a discount?? Gotta start saving our pennies.

-I don't like money. It is obnoxious. And stressful. We both work hard, shouldn't we be able to just buy what we need and/or want? Stupid, but very smart, budget.

-Fantasy football is confusing. But should be fun? I'm excited to be doing it with "our family." I love being connected to our friends. Hopefully they will be visiting sometime soon.

-I can't tell if Wrigley is getting bigger or not.

Life is fantastic and we are so incredibly blessed.

And it begins.

School year has begun and it has begun at full speed.

Josh is enjoying teaching the 3rd grade and I enjoy listening to little quirks he is working out in his classroom. Here is my favorite story to date:

(1st day of school)
Mr. Duerr: Is anyone allergic to peanuts?
3rd Grader Johnny: I am!
Mr. Duerr: Thank you for letting me know, 3rd Grader Johnny.

(Later that night)
Josh: I have a peanut kid. I should probably take the peanut butter out of my desk and bring it home. But we don't have a "Peanut Allergy" sign on the door, so it should be fine
Me: Interesting. Why do we have all these kids with allergies nowadays? Somethings not quite right.

(4th day of school during lunch)
Mr. Duerr: 3rd Grader Johnny, come here for a moment
3rd Grader Johnny: Yes, Mr. Duerr?
Mr. Duerr: How severe is your allergy to peanuts?
3rd Grader Johnny: Huh?
Mr. Duerr: Is your allergy to peanuts really bad?
3rd Grader Johnny: Huh? What? I don't like peanuts.
Mr. Duerr: OK 3rd Grader Johnny. It is OK to not like peanuts, but that does not mean you are allergic. You can just say "I don't like peanuts." Finish eating your lunch.

This story may not be as funny in writing or I am not a good writer or both,  either way it had Josh and I laughing for a solid 5 minutes that night.

And that is reason # 363 why being a teacher is awesome.

Here are a couple pictures from his classroom. The last one isn't very good, put the main point is to show his view from the classroom in mountains (for all you Illinois folk, of course :))

Confession...

Not only have I begun DVRing all the Newlywed Game Shows, but we also will sit and play along with the contestants. Our own pen and paper and everything.

In the words of Josh, "We dominate the first two rounds, it's that last two- part bonus question that gets us every time."  We have yet to win, but I assure you that if we ever get on the show it will be a different story.

Married life is pretty dorky, yet fantastic all at the same time.

Grown ups? Are you sure?

Here are the top 10 reasons were adults, not in any particular order:

10. We have a puppy. Were allowed to be in charge of another living things life.

9. Josh is a teacher, he is going to teach 3rd graders. By himself. Noone is going to help him. Oh and he is 25. That just sounds mature.

8. I'm a teacher. People are putting me in charge of childrens educations. Particularly children who are itty bitty 4 year olds and have a hard time hearing.

7. We're married and could have babies if we wanted and no one would say what about it.

6. We moved to Arizona by all by ourselves.

5. We're going to travel overseas somewhere fun all by ourselves next summer.

4. We can stay up as late as we want. Although we are pretty responsible and I'm not going to lie, I like my sleep.

3. We do things like talk about which dental insurance to have and then actually fill out the paperwork to do it.

2. I go grocery shopping and plan menus for the week.

1. (I may or may not have put this one in a particular order and saved it for last) We put an offer in on a house and could very well be homeowners by December, or maybe even sooner.

This is ridiculous. From what I have been hearing from people who I have always viewed as adults, you never really feel like one. I am getting this memo super late because I cannot get over the fact that we make more than 75 dollars a paycheck and could potentially be buying a house. I'm not quite sure when you become a grown up. Is it when you graduate college? When you get your first grown up job? When you buy a house? Or when you have your first baby? When you turn 25? Or is it just a random day you wake up and suddenly you feel like a grown up?  Hm. We have experienced a majority of these and are running out of things to experience and finally feel like grown ups. Maybe all the grown ups are right and it won't ever happen.

But this being a "technical adult" thing is a lot of fun, as you can see from the list above. But it is pretty scary sometimes as well. God has been doing some big things and this is only the first year or two of "adultdom", if you will. We love all the adventures God has taken us on and are excited to see where He brings us to next.

This might be our house by the way! I call it "Our maybe home"

Phoenix Pet Expo

We decided to have some fun with Wrigley and take him to the Phoenix Pet Expo this past Saturday.

We have officially decided that Wrigley has a "friendgression problem". This is the opposite problem of aggression. Wrigley is convinced that no matter the time or place, everyone and every dog should be his friend. The dogs over 100 pounds tend to be his favorites. This was him attempting to be friends with a big white fluffy one.
Big fluffy white dog had little to no interest in Wrigley or being his friend.
(This is unusual as most dogs love Wrigley but just don't quite know how to play with him because he is so small.) Wrigley then attempted to make friends with the dogs who were in the process of doing an agility course. He had to continually sneak a peak at the talented dogs and would wag his nub in excitement when they ran by.

We even got to meet horses. Josh had never pet a horse before! I cannot wait to take him horseback riding when it gets cool again.
Overall the day was tons of fun and it wore Wrigley out!

Oh and we saw this crazily well trained animal. I think if we wanted and tried hard enough Wrigley could totally do it.  But we won't try hard enough so we totally entered a chance to win a free training session.

One day, Wrigley, one day soon.

the very first.

What better way to begin blogging than talking about our first year anniversary!

Josh surprised me with a trip to Sedona! Our anniversary was a great excuse to begin exploring this beautiful state we now live in.  We got to go hiking, exchange some awesome presents, hang out at the pool, have a fancy dinner, and eat our last piece of wedding cake.

I couldn't of imagined a better way to celebrate our very first year.
